In an attempt to help a few of my favorite authors with reviews, I've decided to integrate book reviews and some fun movie reviews into my monthly blog. I do have a few to catch up on so for the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing additional blog posts. It started last week with K.M. Warfield's adventurous fantasy, Scales & Stingers and this week we're delving into the YA, LGBTQ novel, Does Love Always Win? by Diane Billas.
Five stars to this debut author and her ability to create YA characters that I believe truly capture the teen world of angst, love, and discovery.
This YA gem is packed with deep emotions and balanced with clever dialogue. Does Love Always Win, follows the inner struggle of Shorty, a pretty and popular seventeen-year-old girl whose life is about to be turned upside down.
I completely enjoyed the use of YA language that was spot on and seamless. From Shorty's interaction with her parents and friends, the author created the right dynamics that beautifully fit her many relationships. This was a breeze to read and hard to put down.

Now onto the silver screen. Well, in this case a 70" box hanging on the wall in our den.
I'd been waiting to see this flick for a while. Taron Egerton portrays Henk Rogers, a struggling video game inventor who discovers Tetris in 1988. Traveling to Russia under illegal pretenses, Henk teams up with Tetris inventor Alexey Pajitnov, and together they dangerously put in place the means to bring the game to worldwide status.
I was at the edge of my seat and biting my nails for two hours of this wild ride.
You can catch this amazing, based on real life events film on AppleTV.
