If you follow my blog, you know that nearly a year ago I took back the rights to several of my titles from my previous publisher. It was a personal decision that I agonized over but in the end, I was sure I'd made the right decision. Months of thinking on their fate has led me to this blog today. Since most of the titles were older and a few not concurrent with my usual brand of paranormal YA, I decided to release them independently.
To say this was a learning experience doesn't begin to describe this journey, but it ended on a positive note and today I'm sharing the introduction of the second edition of one of those books.
Saving A Life, was originally released on November 26, 2018. It's different from anything else I've written, and once you read the dedication you'll understand why I chose this story. In the second edition, I've freshened the contents a bit and recreated a few of the paragraphs. I feel it's better than the original because I'm in a better place. The message remains the same and Walter's journey ultimately leads him to the same conclusion, but the path has changed enough to rediscover the book. It also has a beautiful new cover due to the very talented work of Victoria Kaer. She took my vision and made it a reality. I love it.
I hope you give this new version a try, it's emotional, powerful, and very dear to me. A journey I needed to travel but one I am happy to see resolved.
